The Triplett Model TEV500 PRO Electric Vehicle Charger Test Kit offers both basic and advanced diagnostics for testing charging stations. It includes a PE Pre-Test to detect any dangerous voltage in the PE conductor relative to earth. The CP (Control Pilot) State rotary switch allows simulation of various vehicle states. The CP Signal output terminals can be used to connect an oscilloscope for checking the CP signal's waveform and amplitude. The CP Error “E” function simulates a short circuit between CP and PE, while the PE Error (Earth Fault) simulates a break in the PE conductor. Pressing the CCID TRIP Test Button establishes a connection between L1 and PE, causing the station's CCID to stop the charging process. A phase indicator LED lights up when phase voltage is present on L1 at the charging connector. The Measuring Terminal Outputs (L1, L2(N), PE, and PP) are directly connected to the corresponding conductors of the charging station, allowing quick voltage readings with a digital multimeter. The kit complies with North American standards, specifically SAE J1772.
