SNA6000-SMM Scalar Mixer Measurement (Software)
Mixers are generally 3-port devices that generate the sum or difference of two input frequencies. Most mixers are active and need an external power supply, but there are passive mixers, like audio mixers, that don't require power as they lack an amplifier.
Engineers often assess mixer performance by evaluating conversion loss, phase and group delay, the 1 dB compression point, isolation between ports, and port VSWR. Phase and group delay can be measured using a VNA with a Vector Mixer Measurement function, while the other parameters can be measured with a Scalar Mixer Measurement function.
