5203 seals close-fitting joints between rigid metal faces and flanges. It provides resistance to low pressures immediately after assembly of flanges. The product cures rapidly when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces. Once fully cured, the product can be easily removed from flange faces, particularly on aluminum. It is typically used as a form-in-place gasket on rigid flanged connections, such as gearbox and engine casings. The thixotropic nature of 5203 reduces the migration of the liquid product after application to the substrate.
