3Mâ„¢ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL is a flame retardant seam sealing tape for wet area corrosion protection. This tape is resistant to abrasion, erosion, scratching, punctures and impact. It is primarily used in the aircraft lavatory and galley areas and applications to help establish an excellent barrier to fluids.

Two Liners, One Great Tape
3Mâ„¢ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL is a rugged, 9 mil flame retardant polyurethane protective tape comprised of a polyurethane elastomer, a rubber based adhesive and two liners. The bottom 3 mil polyethylene liner protects the adhesive from contamination prior to application. The top liner is imprinted with black lines at four inch intervals aids in precise installation. The tape itself is conformable, enabling it to be applied over curved or uneven surfaces and yield professional results. 3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL is resistant to abrasion, erosion, scratching, punctures and impacts. This product is clear to facilitate final validation of proper screw and sealant installation. Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL contains no added VOCs. It is qualified to leading OEM specifications for moisture barrier and also meets FAR 25.853 for aircraft interiors. Please validate all certifications at time of usage.

Pressure Sensitive Adhesive for Robust Bond
3Mâ„¢ Polyurethane Protective Tape 8658DL features an acrylic, pressure sensitive adhesive for a firm, lasting bond. We use acrylic, pressure sensitive adhesive for its ability to wet out the surface and its ability to form a strong bond to aircraft floor panels. Our tape is solvent resistant and adheres well to composite materials. The adhesive maintains its bond strength through a range of climate and temperature changes. Our dual liner features a 3 mil polyethylene protective liner over the adhesive and a top liner imprinted with black lines at four inch intervals to aid in precise installation.
