The PmodRTCC model is a real-time clock/calendar (RTC) powered by the Microchip MCP79410. Through the I2C interface via the 8-pin header J2, users may configure up to two alarms that can be triggered at a wide variety of possible times.
The Pmod RTCC utilizes Microchip's MCP74910 to provide accurate time-keeping and alarm configuration for any long-term (or short-term) project. MCP7941X series uses digital timing compensation for an accurate clock/calendar, a programmable output control for versatility, a power sense circuit that automatically switches to the backup supply, and nonvolatile memory for data storage. Using a low-cost 32.768 kHz crystal, it tracks time using several internal registers.
Pmod Series Overview
The Digilent Pmod (peripheral module) Series is a small, low-cost peripheral module that can be used with a wide range of embedded systems and development boards. It is designed to extend the capabilities of embedded systems and development boards by adding new features and functionality. The Pmod communicates with host boards using 6, 8 or 12-pin connectors that can carry multiple digital control signals, taking advantage of standard serial protocols such as SPI and I²C. This allows for more effective designs by routing analog signals and power supplies only where they are needed and away from digital controller boards.
