Frequently Asked Questions
Can I reuse a syringe barrel for my assembly fluid?
Syringe barrels are designed for single use only. Attempting to clean and reuse them can leave residue of the original fluid or the cleaning materials, compromising the assembly fluid. Also, the cleaning process, and even the dispensing process, can change the surface structure of the syringe barrels. As a result of these factors, EFD cannot guarantee the quality or performance after first use.
EFD syringe barrels are not just built but also priced for one-time use. The costs of scrap and rework, not to mention unscheduled downtime, are much higher. Once your syringe is empty, throw it away and get a new one.
Are EFD syringe barrels compatible with other manufacturers pistons?
EFD’s pistons are designed specifically for EFD syringe barrels. We have spent decades perfecting our process and establishing a robust supply chain to ensure quality products with consistent dimensions.
No industry standards exist to codify syringe barrel pistons and syringe barrels in terms of diameters, etc. As a result, no reliable interoperability exists. Although syringe barrels and syringe barrel pistons from other manufacturers might appear compatible with those from EFD, we would not recommend using them due to limitations in consistency, and compatibility along the full length of the barrel.
How to store filled syringes for easy removal of air bubbles?
Always store syringes vertically, with the luer end facing down. This allows air pockets to migrate upward. Next, remove accumulated air using the following steps:
- Store filled syringe barrels vertically, right side up.
- Before use, squeeze the sides of the barrel and push the piston down to purge th
