The Tripp Lite 12kVA SmartOnline Hot-Swappable Modular Rack/Tower UPS provides 12,000 VA of on-line, double-conversion power protection for critical server, network, and telecommunications equipment. It delivers continuous, battery-derived AC output during blackouts and includes active, full-time power conditioning. The fault-tolerant auto-bypass feature prevents unexpected service interruptions during overload or internal faults. The system consists of a 4U power module and a 4U external battery pack, occupying 8U of rack space, and supports upright tower installation with optional accessories.

This UPS system maintains full-time sine wave output within 3% of selectable 208/120 or 240/120V AC, and it corrects brownouts and overvoltages from 65V to 140V (L-N). Its double-conversion operation first converts incoming AC to DC, then resynthesizes it into perfect sine wave AC, providing advanced protection from harmonic distortion, fast electrical impulses, and other power anomalies. Runtime is expandable with optional external battery packs, and the unit supports efficient operation in economy mode, reducing BTU heat output and operating costs.

The UPS features network-grade AC surge and noise suppression, and multiple network management interfaces including a DB9 RS-232/dry contact serial port, enhanced USB port, and a slot for optional network management cards. The HID-compliant USB interface enables integration with Windows and macOS power management and auto shutdown features. All three network interfaces allow for detailed monitoring of load levels, self-tests, and power conditions. Tripp Lite's PowerAlert software is available via free download for extended management capabilities.

Front panel LED indicators and an LCD display with scroll controls allow for easy monitoring of major UPS functions. The rotatable display supports both rackmount and tower configurations. Power input and output use a split-phase, 4-conductor hardwire connection. Output receptacles include two L6-30R, six C19, and five 5-15/20R low voltage outlets, all mounted on a detachable backplate with a manual bypass switch. This setup supports hot-swappable UPS replacement without disconnecting power from your equipment.

The external battery packs are field-replaceable and hot-swappable for easy maintenance. The UPS comes in an attractive all-black enclosure and includes $250,000 of Ultimate Lifetime Insurance (valid in U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico only).
