Techni-Tool Fundraiser Nets Nearly $1,900 for Cancer Research

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Worcester, Pennsylvania, October, 2011 – For the second straight year Techni-Tool employees have shown their support for cancer awareness by staging a special fundraising event.  Activities included a bake sale and raffle, with prizes ranging from a Starbucks gift package to a family outing at a Reading Royals hockey game. Additionally, for a small donation, employees could “dress down for cancer awareness” by wearing casual attire, such as jeans and various cancer-themed T-shirts that proclaim their support for the cause.

In all, employee contributions for the day amounted to $935, and were matched by Techni-Tool. The total donation of $1,870 will be divided equally between two worthy charities: Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Shining Down - The Jim Lafferty Memorial Foundation, which helps fund prostate cancer research and education.

Techni-Tool also continues to support cancer research through its Tools for Life program, where a portion of the sales from a special line of pink-colored products goes directly to the fight against breast cancer.

“Finding a cure for cancer is certainly the goal of everyone who has been touched by this disease, and Techni-Tool is no exception,” says Paul Weiss, President of Techni-Tool. “We’re proud of the generosity and enthusiastic support of our employees, and pleased to be able to help make a difference in the fight against cancer.”
