Many people think that the only important choice in tweezers is the type
of head. But choosing the right material can make a critical difference
to the cost and success of your application.
Here's a quick guide to our different tweezer materials: Carbon Steel:Hardened tips. Highly magnetic. Extends
life but is susceptible to rust. Carbon Fiber Tip: Withstands high heat. Lightweight. Resists
wear and abrasion. ESD safe. Excellent for chemicals, halogen and halogenated
solvents. Ceramic:Zirconia toughened alumina with aluminum handle. High strength
and hardness. Excellent thermal properties to 1400°C. Corrosion resistant,
electrically insulating 10.cm, non-magnetic. Diamond Coated:Stainless
steel coated with diamond clusters that develop a crystal structure similar
to a natural diamond. High elasticity and adhesion strength. Surface is
both biocompatible and contaminant free. Long wearing, ESD safe, anti-magnetic,
and chemically inert up to 350°C (662°F). Glass Filled Delrin: Excellent for handling semiconductors
without damage. Acid resistant, non-magnetic, non-absorbent, lightweight.
Nickel: Carbon steel plated to prevent corrosion. Stainless Steel: Anti-magnetic. Resists rust, corrosives,
and acids. Excellent overall quality. Titanium: 40% lighter than steel. Very good mechanical properties
at 350°C (662°F). Resists chemicals and corrosion. Contamination free surface.
